Marginalised Women

1880s – 2010s

This section is dedicated to telling the stories of women who have faced additional prejudices because of an aspect of their identity. This could be any or a combination of the following: women with disabilities, women of colour, queer women, trans women or working class women. Over the last one hundred and fifty years Britain has taken steps towards a fairer and more equal society for marginalised women. We still have a long way to go and it is so important to recognise and celebrate the women who contributed towards that.
